Guys... I MISS MY BOYFRIEND!

Mood: lonely.
Song for today..:

Lyrics translated:

I miss you I miss you
More than the stars in the night
Now and forever now and forever
You must be my light

I will be by your side
Be it a windy morning
Or a freezing moonlit night
Always I've wanted to run through the morning that I'm staring at
Vague words can only cloud the heart
Cry or laugh as much as you want to
I will continue to protect you

I miss you I miss you
More than the stars in the night
Now and forever now and forever
You must be my light

I miss you
I miss you
I've found my sun
Your profile is too dazzling

I can’t become stronger
There are moments when the words crush
I think that both of us could make it well

I say hi! You answer bye?
You turn the words, but they lack you
I don’t want to lose you

I miss you I miss you
While the wind scatters through the heart
Always, Always, I’ll be beside you
With these overflown feelings, I miss you I miss you
Your profile is dazzling

I miss you I miss you
More than the stars in the night
Always, Always, I’ll be beside you
A day, a day, when we will be asleep and dreaming the same dream

I will also become your light

ABC the invisible future
Can't you see it? I want to chose it
With you I could go where ever possible

ABC my feelings toward you
Can't you see
i want to protect you
Next to you its so bright
My Sunshine I have met again

okay blog time!

*sigh* I miss him..  I am so attached to him, I've never been attached to anyone, and I don't like myself right now for it.
Last night I had a dream that we were sleeping next to eachother and I was SO happy, but then when I woke up he wasn't there.. and I wanted to cry.

Plus I get those butterflies still.. I spend hours and hours keeping my hopes up wishing he would talk to me, but knowing he's busy I know I can't contact him, nor do I have the courage to. Everytime he talks to me my heart skips a beat, and I think: do I really deserve this? He's perfect.. I wish he was here right now.. I love him so much.

Well, I'll write later... :/ I love you baby, I'll be waiting for your text. (:
I super love you okay? Forever and ever.

The Cake.(:

Shanes cake is so magical.
It may sound super weird to say this but..
I can taste the love he put into it.
Truth be told, when I was frustrated at the piano because it wouldn't turn out the way I wanted it to be.. So I ate cake. I was hungry. And it made me feel better.
I am going to continue making his present. I hope he likes it.

I feel..

like this:
what does this mean to you? write it in the comments.

very popular piano piece ^_^

Emotions ^-^

Written at 3 pm. Internet wasnt working.
Mood For todays Blog:

Decided to make a mood for todays blog, that way, I can tell you HOW I AM FEELING, through, a music type of way (:

Zodiac lesson! :D

the order of the zodiac is
Aries
then Taurus.
I am the second on the list.
(As for my boyfriend is the last and is a pisces)
Aries is known for their firey passionate behavior. Gets angered easily. Known to be a lot of fun, optimistic, happy, creative, adventurous and charismatic. However, aries many be aggressive, bossy, impatient, and might have a tendencies to dominate others. Least emotional(cry type) in ALL of the zodiacs.

then me! :D Taurus,
I am known for my determination, appreciation of beauty and patience. I almost never get angry. I am the most patient of all the zodiacs. And the second least emotional one there. Thus, I have tendencies to not show it because well, a lot of the time, there is nothing to show. I am sort of a medium you can say. Constantly medium and mellow. Only to jump out of my emotions when it involves my family or something that is unbelievable. Something that affects me on the inside. In relationships, Taurus' are known to be needy and look for someone who is willing to take care of them. Taurus' tend to be extremely sensual and are completely loyal to their significant other. But thats ONLY when Taurus' trust them. If you don't have a Taurus' trust, expect your relationship to have absolutely nothing. No caring nothing. Trust is everything. Taurus' like Pisces need to have a sense of peace or stress piles up. When the Taurus expresses how he/she feels, the answers are usually practical and tend to solve many problems. However, some Taurus' tend to wait till last minute before stating their opinion. We are extremely hesitant, Conservative, rigid, mundane, and stagnant. Oh btw, We are STUBBORN!

Finally, I'll skip to my boyfriend. The last of the Zodiacs, the Pisces. he is known for his sensitivity. He basically "stole" all of the emotional. Is what many astrologists say. But because they are so intact with their emotions they tend to be extremely intuitive and great emotional problem solvers. They have an ablility to create a stable environment. Their positive traits: Compassionate, Sensual, Nurturing, Protecting, Visionary and imaginative. (which are sooo attractive >.<) but they tend to be moody (which is kind of cute) secretive (me no like lol ) possessive (strangely like that) needy (i like that (:) Passive, and can be introverted at times. Usually Pisces tell a joke to lighten the mood, Pisces are usually the most understanding. (Thank you) Pisces are flexible.

end of lesson.
For now on, I am going to set a mood for my blog (when I am at home)
to let you know how I am feeling.
Music is how I describe things, Its always have been. :D

Love ya. ttyl

Erika stop complaining~! but its hard not to.

lets sing..
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-byeing,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Snow, Snow (: and then. :/ lame

my day

I was going to avoid alden, so I went to class early,
about.. 10 minutes early.
then! I ran into Breanne, I watched Breanne's strange behavior.
I had women fight over me, and astonished by their strange behavior I stood there.
After I sucked in the semi shock but also already used to it at the same time,
I watched as girls hit on one another. (My usual) and waved goodbye and watched Breanne and her boyfriend.
They really are a strange couple.
Then I continued to walk to class.
I saw a group of people in a circle, holding one another,
hand and hand
they closed their eyes,
super close,
they all began to sing the spongebob fun song....

Spongebob: It's not about winning, it's about fun!
Plankton: What's that?
Spongebob: Fun is when you...fun is...it' like...it's kinda...sorta like a...
What is fun?? HERE...Let me spell it for you!

Spongebob:
F is for Friends who do stuff together.
U is for You and me.
N is for Anywhere and anytime at all.

Sea Creatures:
Down here in the deep blue sea!

Plankton:
F is for Fire that burns down the whole town.
U is for URANIUM...BOMBS!
N is for No survivors when you're-

Spongebob:
Plankton! Those things aren't what fun is all about!
Now, do it like this,
F is for Friends who do stuff to-

Plankton:
Never! That's completely idiotic!

Spongebob:
Here, Let me help you...
F is for friends who do stuff together.
U is for You and me, TRY IT!

Plankton:
N is for Anywhere and anytime at all.

Sea Creatures:
Down here in the deep blue sea!

Plankton:
Wait...I don't understand ...I feel all tingly inside...
Should we stop?

Spongebob:
No! That's how you're supposed to feel!

Plankton:
Well I like it! Lets do it again!

Spongebob:
Okay!

Spongebob & Plankton:
F is for Frolic through all the flowers.
U is for Ukelele.
N is for Nose picking, chewing gum, and sand licking.
Here with my best buddy.

(Laughing part)

Sea Creatures:
Down in the deep blue sea.

It was.. interesting.
So, I went to Mr. McDermott's room,
stayed in there until 8:15
and went over to the band room in the middle of class.
It was a pep assembly and it was ONLY for the Symphonic Band
Since we are behaved, and the Concert band is out of control.
So we played, and everyone got excited.
Played: Pokemon, Fight Song, Land of A Thousand dances, percussion songs, and finally Final Countdown.
it was pretty cool.
(:
then we came back, I put away my flute, and I am here.
man, I am super tired.
I wonder what we are doing in class next periods?
hmm..
I got a project to do today and the weekend.

Walt Disney, the creator of Mickey Mouse, had musophobia, which is the fear of mice.

  1. The Walt Disney Company was founded in 1923, so our 50th anniversary would have been in 1973. Next year will be the 75th anniversary.
REPORTED: Walt Disney Archives 22 MAY 97
  2. Football announcer John Madden left ABC to broadcast NFL games on NBC. NBC also wanted his partner, Al Michaels, but he was still under contract to ABC (which is owned by Disney). So to get Michaels, NBC sold to Disney the rights to "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit", a 1927 cartoon character in 26 silent cartoons created by Walt Disney a year before Mickey Mouse. The first trade of a broadcaster for a rabbit!
    REPORTED: Ed 18 MAR 06
  3. Retlaw was Walt's own personal company which took in his income for the rights to his name, stock income and other income paid to him, hence the name "Retlaw" - "Walter" spelled backwards. It was never a subsidiary of the Disney corporation. As most people know, Walt was an avid train buff, and when he built Disneyland, he wanted complete control over the steam trains, so that he could take them out when ever he wanted. Thus, he placed the steam trains, and then later the monorails under the ownership of Retlaw and leased them back to the park. In 1982, the family decided to sell the assets of Retlaw, including the rights to Walt's likeness and name to the Disney Company, and a holding company, Walt Disney Incorporated was formed. Eventually, the steam trains and monorails became "officially" Disneyland's property.
REPORTED: Kevin Lee 21 SEP 97
Retlaw was not a Disney subsidiary, which was disbanded after Walt's death. It was a personal company of Walt Disney's, unaffiliated with Walt Disney Productions (aka The Walt Disney Company). Founded in 1953, it licensed the rights to Walt Disney's name and likeness, and owned the steam train and monorail operations at Disneyland. Walt Disney Productions purchased the name, likeness, and the train/monorail operations from Retlaw in the early 1980's. Retlaw still continues to thrive, as the owner of radio and television stations, among other properties.
CONFIRMED: Randy Ballier 22 SEP 97
CONFIRMED: Doug Davis 01 OCT 97
    CONFIRMED: Marty 18 NOV 98
  4. Roy Disney owns the gym I work out at in North Hollywood, Ca. He is Walt's brothers son. He is about 40.
REPORTED: Dave Hawk 02 JAN 99
  5. Jackson Pollock used to say the hidden Mickeys in his paintings would be the death of him. If someone three dots that formed the Mickey head, it would drive him crazy. Bill S Burroughs used to blow away posters of Mickey mouse with a double barrel shotgun as a tongue-in-cheek protest to this not uncommon occurrence.
    REPORTED: anon 07 FEB 99
  6. Who did Walt Disney use as a model for Peter Pan's Tinkerbell? It was Margaret Kerry. She is now a retired elementary school teacher and being model for Tinkerbell in the movie Peter Pan is the only thing she ever did for Disney.
REPORTED: Sonny Snarr 01 AUG 00

I'm TIRED.

arg, so tired from last night.
I slept in this morning, and I can't remember the conversation I had with my boyfriend this morning.
Can you remind it babe? if you dont remember dont worry about it lol. (:
Well, today, lets start from the beginning.
I woke up at 5:15, woke my boyfriend up and talked to him.
No clue what I told him, I think I told him about a dream I had.
But what was my dream?
I then told him I couldn't take it at 5:20 and fell back asleep.
From that point on I felt the heavy eye lids of mine become heavy and had a strange dream about my boyfriend.
I miss Mr. D.. :/
The sub here is a jerk.
Makes me so angry.
ah well.

Shane's Email

Hey babe, :P
I never said where it would go. lol
and I did promise it this week. So why not today?
Today happens to be the day where I can't stop thinking about you..
and I am having withdraws. Shane withdraws that is. I miss you soo much its driving me crazy >.<
But anyways, I love you Sweetheart!
How are you? I really miss you! I was just thinking about how spectacularly amazing you are (;
Today I went to the College military thing :P It was really cool. It was nice and familiar.
Ah, the familiar smell of the military. do you know that smell? I love that smell lol.
It's sweet and military like. Its crazy.
Anyways, I took a bunch of pictures. I'll show you it later okay? I even got an interview and some forms. I am going to ace this project! I know it! I won't give up!
I arrived at school at around 7 am. I was texting you, still being under the Shane withdraw and checking my phone every 2 seconds lol. Thinking: Shane, please reply.. I miss you. Although I knew you were busy, you were probably driving and/or getting ready. So I didn't get too upset cuz i understood it was just hard because I NEVER missed someone so much before.
I guess this shows how much I really do love you. How much I need you in my life. I want to keep you no matter what. And to do that, I need to be understanding, patient and loving. With you, that's easy. A friend of mine told me something today that made me smile. "When you truly love someone, stay with them. Be as understanding as you possibly can and smile." I completely agree with this. Baby, you are someone that I want to spend a lifetime with. I value you and you mean the world to me. I want to keep you forever, cherish you and make you happy. If there is anything that would make you happy, I want to do it. I want to make you happy. and more importantly, I need to make you happy. If you are happy, I am happy. You ALWAYS make me so happy baby, i just wish I can repay you in return. You always do so much for me, you try so hard. Baby, I REALLY appreciate it. I love you so much Shane.
So then to go on with my day, I hung out with Zack at 7:05 am. We talked about things and he made me laugh, I even talked to him and sorta vented to him.. I vented to him saying how I was mad at myself, for getting upset over something so small. I said it wasn't you at all, but just me being dramatic. He agreed with me on this, but patted me on the back and said "Erika, you are one of the strongest cookies in the cookie jar. Don't be so sad, I know you love him and he loves you. With you, you can stand back up in a jiffy." He smiled at me and hugged me. I smiled and nodded at him. "I really love him" I said. He smiled and said "Yup, He's a keeper. He's someone that can make you happy. Treats you right, don't forget to cherish him" I smiled and nodded. "I will, I promise"
Then I went to first period, I couldn't stop thinking about you. I kept thinking: Shane.. Shane... Shane... I wish you were here. I felt like kitty. I put my head on my desk and looked up at people with big eyes.  They kept calling that one cat from Shrek, the one googly eye. Apparently. that was the face I was making. Oh well. We read Oedipus and I was the priest. It was pretty boring. :/
Now I am in second period, and we are doing a thing called wall of fame. Where I become a celebrity. Put my face on a body. I'll show you the pictures later okay sweetie. (:
Just remember I love more than the world, the universe and even if the world ends, I will still love you just as much. Even more. I fall in love with you more and more everyday and I really love you.
I love you sweetie pie. Forever and ever.

Love always,
Your soulmate.

The funs of being bisexual

haha,
so I have a boyfriend so I dont do this anymore.
but :P
i just had the funniest flashback.
so i was talking to my guy friend Bryan and he was talking about how hot this one chick was.
I saw a picture of her and she was honestly super attractive.
So i told him that he was like: 'Erika, I am so glad you agree, its so much nicer that your bisexual you understand'
i get stuff like that all the time
A guy goes up to me and asks me how i think of the girl, or a guy if they are gay and I tell them my honest opinion. Usually, we are attracted to the same thing.
Its quite funny.

you know i started to get sick when i chewed a lot of gum

and i looked up the ingredients.
i was itchy. and well...
this isnt good.
Phenylalanine is an amino acid normally found in the brain. Persons with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria (PKU) cannot metabolize phenylalanine. This leads to dangerously high levels of phenylalanine in the brain (sometimes lethal). It has been shown that ingesting aspartame, especially along with carbohydrates, can lead to excess levels of phenylalanine in the brain even in persons who do not have PKU.

This is not just a theory, as many people who have eaten large amounts of aspartame over a long period of time and do not have PKU have been shown to have excessive levels of phenylalanine in the blood. Excessive levels of phenylalanine in the brain can cause the levels of seratonin in the brain to decrease, leading to emotional disorders such as depression. It was shown in human testing that phenylalanine levels of the blood were increased significantly in human subjects who chronically used aspartame.(6)

Even a single use of aspartame raised the blood phenylalanine levels. In his testimony before the U.S. Congress, Dr. Louis J. Elsas showed that high blood phenylalanine can be concentrated in parts of the brain and is especially dangerous for infants and fetuses. He also showed that phenylalanine is metabolised much more effeciently by rodents than by humans.(7)

One account of a case of extremely high phenylalanine levels caused by aspartame was recently published the "Wednesday Journal" in an article titled "An Aspartame Nightmare." John Cook began drinking six to eight diet drinks every day. His symptoms started out as memory loss and frequent headaches. He began to crave more aspartame-sweetened drinks. His condition deteriorated so much that he experienced wide mood swings and violent rages. Even though he did not suffer from PKU, a blood test revealed a phenylalanine level of 80 mg/dl. He also showed abnormal brain function and brain damage. After he kicked his aspartame habit, his symptoms improved dramatically.(8)

As Blaylock points out in his book, early studies measuring phenylalanine buildup in the brain were flawed. Investigators who measured specific brain regions and not the average throughout the brain notice significant rises in phenylalanine levels. Specifically the hypothalamus, medulla oblongata, and corpus striatum areas of the brain had the largest increases in phenylalanine. Blaylock goes on to point out that excessive buildup of phenylalanine in the brain can cause schizophrenia or make one more susceptible to seizures.

Therefore, long-term, excessive use of aspartame may provid a boost to sales of seratonin reuptake inhibitors such as Prozac and drugs to control schizophrenia and seizures.

so yeah. this isnt finished but the facts are there

It was from Suzuki book 4.
and :/
i was gonna do it for contest..
but I stopped practicing after my ex and I broke up...
I was a freaking idiot. :/
I regret it.
oh well. ill just try again..
right?

So i wanna major in music

so im gonna rant about it?
okay! :D
Here are the basics!
First off! :D
REMEMBER! XD Some people think trying to read music is hard and difficult. ^-^ The following will try to introduce the most important topics in reading music in a very easy to understand way. Don't worry! It takes time! don't expect to fly through all the lessons and understand. As with anything new, it'll appear complicated and complex but as you look at the examples and read the explanations it will make sense. (like math... *cough*) With that said, lets go on and introduce the first lesson. (;
CLEFS!

There are 2 basic kinds of clefs. The clef you will see on your music depends on what instrument you play.

    Treble Clef
    Bass Clef
You might wonder why there are 2 different clefs. The reason is that most instruments using the bass clef usually have a lower pitch (sound) and regulary play low notes. If they were to use the treble clef the notes would appear so far below the staff it would be hard to read.

Here are the the names of the notes for both clefs. Although you only really need to know 1 or the other, it is good practice to know both.

feel free to zoom in later. (:

Next, (:
Time Signatures
Time signatures tell you how many and what kind of notes per measure there are. The number on top is the number of notes per measure, and the bottom number is what kind of note. Let us explain further.
Let us take for example the most popular time signature, 4/4.
This means there is 4 quarter notes per measure. How is this so? Looking at 4/4, you saw the 4 on top. You already knew that meant there were 4 somethings per measure. Then looking at the bottom number probably confused you. The bottom number can be 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, etc. Look at this chart.

For example: 3/4 is 3 quarter notes per measure. 5/2 is 5 half notes per measure. 6/8 is 6 eighth notes per measure.
Bottom Number                                         Value
1 Whole note
2Half note
4Quarter note
8Eighth note
16Sixteenth note

Cut Time, same as 4/4 but everything is cut in half
Common Time, Its aka 4/4 time

Alright, thats all I got to rant about for now. and all this programing is kinda annoying lol (: ill write later. If you have ANY questions or concerns please let me know!

since I've been stressed lately..todays topic.. STRESS :P

i looked up how to get rid of stress...

Productivity and activity will help reduce stress, as long as it's for yourself. I'm not much of an exercise buff, but I know it helps to just get up and do something in the morning, to workout the stress you've built up over the last day. Some people go for a bike ride. Some people go for a run. I prefer lifting weights or doing a little writing. Do something for yourself in the morning that is either mentally or physically beneficial to you. Maybe Yoga?

Writing a to-do list will help reduce stress. A lack of concentration can be caused by stress, and a lack of concentration will inevitably cause you to forget even the most basic things. One of the most effective stress management activities you can do is sit down and try to think about the most important things that need to be accomplished that day--and then do them. Also, throw an item on your list that involves doing something nice for someone special. Doing something nice for someone everyday is guaranteed to relieve some social stresses.

Learning to communicate with others effectively will reduce stress. When ideas or emotions are left unsaid, they tend to stew in our minds, causing us to say stupid or thoughtless things in order to avoid what's really on our minds. If you're sincere and honest (and friendly) with the people around you, either at work or at home, people will learn to respect you feelings and opinions. No more drama caused by misunderstandings.

Relieving yourself of bad habits like smoking and drinking will reduce your stress dramatically. Bad habits cause more stress than anything else. Once you stop abusing your body there will be no more worrying about lung cancer, emphysema, liver disease, stomach cancer, sclerosis of the liver, and pancreatitis. Don't forget that a poor diet is as much a bad habit as smoking or drinking, so balance those meals and eat more produce.

Say no and mean it. Set boundaries and don't let people move them, especially those people who continually push to see how much they can get from you. If you don't set boundaries, your energy and vitality will be drained by things you don't even want to do, by people who always take but never give back and you'll never learn to get rid of stress.

Engage in activities you love. Drawing, dancing, singing, gardening, cooking, even cleaning (if you enjoy it) can be used as self-therapy and will help chase away tension.

Drink more water and green tea and less colas and fruit juices. Eat small low calorie meals and snacks throughout the day to keep anxiety at bay. Vitamin B helps smooth out your mood and you can incorporate it into your diet with foods like low fat beef, low fat milk, cottage cheese, fruit, almonds, blueberries, tuna and cornflakes.

Banish those self-inflicted, inner "rules" that demand you be the perfect husband, the best mother, the most productive employee or the first in your class to ace a test. The best girlfriend or boyfriend. Life alone brings enough stress to your doorstep. Why create more?

Stop putting things off and get rid of the clutter in your house and in your office. These things alone will help you feel more in control of your life and when you feel you're in the driver's seat, you're less likely to get tripped up by stress.
Write it down This is particularly useful when you’re really angry or upset with someone, but aren’t in a position to tell them exactly what you think or feel. For example: your boss sucks, but you can’t just storm his office and count the ways. No problem! Writing him a letter (that he'll never see, of course) is an excellent alternative. And believe me, it’s just as powerful as telling him what he can do with your job. Try it. You’ll see.
Also, if you’re just stressed in general (not due to a specific person) try writing down everything that’s gone wrong in the last 24, 48 or 72 hours. You’ll be surprised how quickly you can fill a notebook up! It’s really a form of purging your system of all the crap you’re storing. You don’t even have to believe it’ll work – it just will.

Treat yourself to a massage at least twice a month. Massage is more than just being pampered. It decreases the level of cortical which creates the "fight or flight" response in the body. It increases serotonin, the chemical that helps with sleep, anxiety and depression and increases dopamine, which provides the body with pleasurable sensations, smoothing stress away before it can build up.

Take a bath Not a shower! Showers are not relaxing. You only need to take one meaningful bath to realize that. You don’t need candles or pretty smelling soaps, you just need clean, hot water and lots of bubbles. No matter how you’re feeling when you get in, you’ll be light years better by the time you get out.

Curl up with a pet There is something very relaxing about petting a dog or cat as they lay beside you on the sofa. Relax with one of your favorite DVDs and scratch Fido’s ears for a while. You’ll both be de-stressed by the time the film is over.

Laugh!  pretty obvious there.

How men and woman deal with stress!
It really is different.
There are a number of factors that play into this. Traditionally, women, more than men, take on the role of primary family care giver. This means that all of a family’s health concerns fall on the shoulders of the women, along with the stress that brings. A woman will tend to put everyone else before herself and ultimately sacrifice her own health and well-being. We’ll suffer through a cold at work, but if our child is sick we will drop everything to take care of him. If you ask men and women to describe their reactions to stress their answers will run the spectrum. Men usually characterize their stress reactions as feelings of rage or sleeplessness. Women usually say that their first reaction to stress is wanting to cry. A majority of women also say that they are prone to overeating when stressed. The overeating then leads to lower energy, fatigue, and eventually more stress.

Most studies on stress have only been on men and how men respond. These studies are where we get the familiar “fight or flight” notions. For decades this was how scientists assumed all humans behaved. Only recently have scientists begun performing stress tests on groups of women and the results are not at all what our male counterparts would have indicated. In most cases, women did not react to stress by wanting to “fight or flight.” Instead, their instincts were to nurture.
A woman’s instincts are naturally to protect or tend to themselves and their children. Then women seek out other women that could help them through. Pursuing comfort through a connection is the befriend aspect.

Women are thought to have the same rush of hormones as men when under stress, but the types of hormones differ. Men tend to have an increase of testosterone, which is connected to hostile and aggressive behavior. Women’s increase in hormones is via oxytocin, a hormone that can disperse feelings of fear and can increase the instinct of care giving.

Women’s Issues & Stress:

One of the most complex women’s health issues is between stress and infertility. For years doctors have told patients that if they would just relax their infertility would cease to be a problem. A ten-year old study showed that the stress levels among women suffering from infertility were equal to or higher than women afflicted with cancer and HIV, but no one could determine if the stress or the infertility appeared first.
Women suffering from too much stress are also at greater risk for sore muscles, back pain, higher blood pressure, and heart palpitations. All of those, if the underlying stress is not treated, can lead to much more serious problems down the line such as heart disease. The physical toll caused by premenstrual syndrome or menopause can also heighten a woman’s reaction to stress. Women that indicated that they suffered from stress also complained more about PMS pain.

Grinding Teeth! AKA Bruxism

Causes!

1. Stress

Stress is the most common reason for bruxism. Most doctors suppose that stress is the primary cause of teeth grinding during sleep. Stress can disrupt a person's sleeping cycle. If a particular sleeping pattern is disrupted, the person ends up clenching their teeth unconsciously and intermittently during sleep. This is where a lot of researchers are currently focusing on, as this explanation is the one most common.

2. Frustration and suppressed anger

There are many instances that a person clenches his fist or teeth if he is very angry with somebody or something. Many psychologists believe that this is the reason why people clench their teeth during the day. Suppressed anger is wrath a person can't let out. This can be quite hard to manage. People who end up grinding their teeth in frustration or anger should consult with a qualified psychiatrist to address the problem.

3. Aggressive personality

This factor causing bruxism is related to anger and frustration. Just like the former reason, this one also deals with one's emotions. But unlike suppressed anger, aggressiveness is expressed anger. In this case, the person lets out all his frustration and anger towards the intended subject. This person may unconsciously grind their teeth in the process.

4. Abnormal alignment of teeth

The abnormal alignment of the upper and lower teeth is referred to as malocclusion. This is one of the physical causes of teeth grinding.Dental experts believe that if there is something abnormal about the structure of a person's teeth, they grind involuntarily against each other as they make contact. While this is another feasible cause of bruxism, it is yet to be confirmed with clinical studies.

5. Growth development of the teeth and jaws.

This is the common reason of bruxism in children. For kids 7 years old and under, their teeth are still in their growing stages. There are a lot of instances where the actual growing of the teeth causes itchiness in the gum area, causing kids to grind their teeth. Teeth grinding becomes the body's response to the changes happening in the jaws and the teeth.

It may also happen that as the teeth grow, the upper and lower molars don't fit together. In an attempt to make them fit comfortably with one another, teeth grinding occurs. Bruxism in children may not be very common. However, they usually outgrow this condition as their teeth improve in structure over time.

(Oh yeah, my Wisdom Teeth)

6. A complication of another disease

There are studies showing that bruxism can be caused by another disease, such as Parkinson's disease or Huntington disease. Parkinson's disease is the degenerative disorder of the central nervous system, which affects the person's motor skills. Huntington's disease, on the other hand, is a neurological disorder that is characterized by lack of movement coordination. People suffering from any of these two disorders are likely to grind their teeth either during the day or at night.

7. Drugs and medications.

Several studies are being conducted to check whether certain drugs used to treat depression, as well as other similar psychiatric medications, could be the causes of bruxism. The results are yet to be published, but a lot of doctors are suspecting that these types of drugs can trigger teeth grinding.

Remedies? (:

1. Munch on an apple, carrot, or cauliflower.

Before going to bed at night, you can try chewing on any of these fruits and vegetables. Chewing is an exercise of your mouth and your gums. And it would definitely calm your mouth a little before you sleep. A calm mouth means reduced instances of teeth grinding throughout the night.

2. Use warm washcloth.

Another way of relaxing the jaw muscles of your mouth is to put a washcloth dipped in lukewarm water around your face. Make sure that the washcloth runs from one side of your face to the other. Doing this would prevent your jaws from clenching. Head pains will also be prevented. Try to practice this every night before you go to sleep and you should be able to experience total relief from teeth grinding in no time.

3. Pamper yourself with a warm massage and a warm bath.

Teeth grinding is usually triggered by a long day at the office. Stress from too much work is the main reason why you grind your teeth at night. To counter stress, allow yourself to enjoy a long warm bath before going to bed. You can also request for a warm massage right after. Doing all of these would relieve your body of stress and give you a good night's sleep.

4. Sleep on your back.

There's no best position to keep your teeth from clenching other than lying flat on your back as you sleep. Sleeping on your sides would only increase the chances that you'll do some teeth grinding activities during the night. Try to keep yourself from sleeping on your sides or on your stomach.

5. Drink warm milk or hot herbal tea before going to bed.

If you have to drink something before going to sleep, make sure that it's tea or milk. The warmer they are, the better. Never drink alcohol during the night. Doing so would only make you grind your teeth in sleep.

6. Take some calcium and magnesium supplements.

Before going to bed, make sure that you take your medications for bruxism, if you have one. If in case your doctor or the dentist did not prescribe you with anything, you can always settle for some calcium supplements and magnesium supplements. These two minerals can definitely help preventing instances of teeth grinding. Add these supplements to your daily diet.

7. Perform deep breathing techniques.

Deep breathing techniques could ease tired muscles. If your body is totally relaxed before going to sleep, you are less likely to grind your teeth while sleeping. Regularly do your breathing exercises a few minutes before going to sleep. Doing so would definitely ensure you of a restful sleep every time.

These are the home remedies for teeth grinding that you should never forget. Feel free to try one or all of them and stick to the methods most effective to you. Practicing them every night would slowly but surely help you get rid of your teeth clenching problems.

Flute and other instruments. Exercises for musicians. (:

Flute Health

Flute health ranges from the physical to the emotional and plays a huge part in the performer's growth and development as a musician.

Ergonomics . . .

The flute can be a difficult instrument to hold comfortably. This might be a surprising statement since the flute is a small instrument. What's so hard about holding the flute?
If you feel this way, try this experiment...
Hold your arms up so that your elbows are above your waist. Now, stay that way for the next three hours.
Begin to make sense now? The flutist is constantly working against gravity when playing.
The tuba player rests his instrument on a chair or a stand. A cello sits on the floor. Saxophones and bassoons have neck straps. The trombone and violin rest on the player's neck. The flute must be supported by the flutist at all times when being played.
There are many incorrect playing positions that can be developed by young players, and all can lead to physical problems.
Proper position of the body when playing includes the following issues...
  • Position of the spinal column
Slouching is bad, as well as a tense body position.
  • Position of the arms
The left arm should be held close to the body while the right elbow should be held out so that the head joint isn't rolled in, causing the intonation to be flat and the tone to be muffled.
  • Position of the hands
The left wrist must be bent a little to properly hold the flute.
  • Position of the fingers
This involves not having the fingers properly located over the keys, hanging off the keys, or playing on the edge of the keys.
Of course, there are fabulous flutists who break all of the above rules, but in general, these are good guidelines to follow to maintain good flute health. Proper practice habits are important for avoiding overuse strains and injuries on the body. Flutists can develop carpal tunnel syndrome, focal dystonia, and other debilitating physical conditions. How can the player develop good flute health in holding the flute?
Some adjustments can be made to the flute to accommodate injured players, including...
Curved head joints
As the name implies, the headjoint is curved, bringing the rest of the instrument much closer in to the player's body. This allows smaller people, particularly children, to play the flute. Jupiter is a well-known manufacturer of curved headjoint flutes.
Vertical headjoint
The head joint is constructed such that the flute can be held in a position vertical to the body, causing much less strain on the arms.
Various aids are available to pad pressure points where the flute is held against the body.
One of these is the "Bo-Pep" flute finger saddle, designed to cushion the bottom of the left index finger. There is tremendous pressure against this part of the hand. After a long practice session, many times my hand would be a shiny, dark pink from the prolonged pressure. I often felt the finger becoming numb as well and wondered if the blood circulation was being cut off.

Stress . . .

Musicians are extremely susceptible to stress and tension because of the desire to achieve at a very high level. The flute world is very competitive and nerves are frayed.
When there is a lot at stake--an important audition, a symphony job, a scholarship--it can be difficult to play your best. Some of the symptoms are...
  1. Cotton mouth or dry mouth syndrome
  2. Shaking of the limbs
  3. Stiff neck
  4. Racing heart beat

Physical exercise . . .

Playing a wind instrument is an extremely physical undertaking, so optimum body condition is vital to optimum flute health. Aerobic exercise can increase the lung capacity that is so important for sustaining long phrases.

Hearing . . .

Because of the high pitch of the flute, your hearing can be affected, particularly if you play in a small practice room.
If you play the piccolo frequently, guarding your hearing becomes even more crucial.
A good set of ear plugs can save your hearing. If you find that after a long session of practicing the piccolo, your ears are ringing or feel numb, look into ear plugs.
If you play in a large ensemble, you may also find ear plugs helpful as well. It is well known that conductors can suffer hearing loss from the intensity of the sound they are exposed to, but this can affect the members of the ensemble as well. Save your flute health - save your hearing!

Chapped lips. . .

Nothing is worse than dry, cracked, or chapped lips when playing the flute. Cold winter weather exacerbates the problem. This aspect of flute health seemed to affect more than just about anything else.
Keep your lips hydrated and protected with a moisturizing lip balm.
There are many schools of thought about which product is best, but bottom line, even an inexpensive chap stick is better than nothing at all.
In addition, drinking lots of water maintains moisture throughout the body, as well as the lips.

Nutrition . . .

Nutrition goes hand in hand with physical exercise in maintaining good flute health.
Flute diet? The flute diet? Is this another wacky diet to lose weight overnight?
Well, there really isn't a flute diet per say. However, there is an exercise plan where you do a lot of stretching while you inhale deeply, hold the air, then breath out very slowly. This is supposed to speed up the metabolism and increase fat burning. Sounds amazingly like the process of breathing involved in playing the flute, doesn't it? At the very least, you can't overeat while you are playing the flute!

Piano Playing Tips - Stretching Exercises for Piano Players

Pianist’s technical problems are almost always related to tension and stiffness in the shoulders, arms and wrists. To overcome these problems, the player must re-learn patterns of coordination so that the shoulders and arms are involved in the playing of each note. There must be a coordination of movement so that energy flows from the torso through to the fingers on the keybed without be blocked anywhere along the way. Before starting in playing the piano, I have found that it is invaluable to go through a stretching routine to warm up the arms and release built up tension in the body. The routine I have developed involves three stages: Releasing Tension, Warming Up the Arms and Shoulders, and Warming Up the Hands. Releasing Tension Start by standing and stretching all over, whatever feels good. Take some deep breaths, voice HA on the exhales, feel free! Bend over from the waist, stretching the arms down to the floor. Let the arms hang, then slowly roll up from the waist. Let the arms hang down, then let them roll up from the shoulders. When standing, shake out the arms from the shoulders. Feel the entire arm as one connected structure. Bend at the knees, then let the arms drop. Lightly bounce on the knees, letting the arms bounce, with the shoulders very free. Warming Up the Arms and Shoulders Standing, move the arms in large rotations, 5 in each direction. Do either one arm at a time or both arms together. Do large Figure 8 motions with each arm, 5 in each direction. Shake out between each segment! Sitting at the piano, bend over from the waist. Let the shoulders roll over and lead the arms down to reach for the floor. Lift the arm up - from the shoulder - and let the shoulder lead the arm and hand onto the piano keyboard. Do this several times, making sure that the fingers are not reaching for the keys. Make sure that these large motions are starting from the shoulder, there should be no reaching with the hands. Let the arm and hand follow the motion from the shoulder. Warming Up the Hands After stretching out the arms and shoulders, the hands and fingers need to be warmed up. Repeat the shoulder roll up while sitting, but this time let one of your fingers come down onto a key - any key, and concentrate on moving from the shoulder. There should be no reaching for the note with the finger. Feel the weight of the arm sinking into the piano keybed, then slowly move the entire arm left and right with the key held down:
Do this with each finger, letting the finger slide on the key. Let one hand drop onto the keyboard, play a diminished chord or just a random cluster. Take the other hand and rub the hand and fingers into the keys
Let both arms drop the hands onto the keyboard, and with flat fingers, sweep the fingers up and down the keyboard along the black keys. Do this for several minutes, feeling the motion starting in the torso - this is a big arm motion that wakes up the fingers:
Stand up, shake out all over, and roll the shoulders again. Take each finger, and massage it with the other hand. There are many different ways to do this, the goal is to wake up the muscles on the sides of each finger. Here are a few ways to wake up the fingers:
These stretches are very helpful if they are done before and during every practice session. After playing for a while, stand up and shake out your arms, do some shoulder rotations, and run your fingers along the black keys. These stretches will help you learn new coordinations making your playing stronger!

Kissing, and how its good for you.

as you can see my theme is kissing today.

Facial Exercise: Kissing uses 30 facial muscles and it helps keep the facial muscles tight and prevent baggy cheeks! The tension in the muscles caused by a passionate kiss helps smooth the skin and increases the circulation.

Burn Calories-Lose Weight: Burn 26 calories by French kissing for one minute! Even a quick, romantic kiss can burn 2-3 calories a minute and double your metabolic rate. Research claims that three passionate kisses a day (at least lasting 20 seconds each) will cause us to loose an entire extra pound!

Blood Pressure Benefits: A passionate 90 seconds of kissing elevates the blood pressure and pulse rate that is equivalent to a short jog. After-results include a sense of relaxation when the blood pressure and pulse return to normal.

Euphoric and Blissful Feelings: The endorphins produced by kissing are 200 times more powerful than morphine.

Stress Management: Passionate kissing relieves tension, reduces negative energy and produces the sense of well being. It boosts your self esteem, and you become a much happier person.

Meditative Benefits: Kissing stops the 'noise' in your mind and reduces anxiety. It increases the levels of oxytocin, an extremely calming hormone that produces feeling of peace. Kissing keeps us 'present' and 'in the moment'. It pulls us out of the mundane and takes us into the extraordinary.

Cardiovascular Benefits: Frequent kissing has scientifically been proven to stabilize cardiovascular activity, and decrease blood pressure and cholesterol.

How kissing can prevent cavities

Kissing is said to prevent cavities and you may be wondering just how. Deep kissing causes you to secrete saliva, which is essential for healthy teeth. To get a better understanding, let’s first understand how saliva is good for your teeth.

HOW SALIVA WORKS

Saliva is your natural teeth protector. On secretion and contact with the teeth, it neutralizes acids which will have formed from food particles that remain in the mouth and in between teeth. These acids are potentially harmful to your enamel – they wear it away. Saliva also contains compounds which kill bacteria in your mouth. These bacteria, left there, will wear your enamel to the point where you get cavities.
Saliva is also rich in calcium and phosphates. Calcium is what your teeth are mainly made of. The calcium and phosphates in your saliva, combined, will rebuild little chinks in your teeth where the enamel may have worn off.
To keep saliva in constant production and circulation, you need to keep your mouth active. Talking is one way to do it. So is eating. If you talk and eat frequently, you’re likely not to have bad breath so long as you keep a healthy oral regimen.

WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH KISSING?

The other way to secrete saliva and in large amounts is through kissing.
When you kiss, the movement of the tongue will cause secretion of saliva– up to 1 teaspoon for each minute of kissing. This saliva will work to keep your teeth in good shape, preventing cavities and tooth decay.
There are conditions however; both kissers have to have good oral hygiene in the first place. During kissing, saliva is also swapped. If one person has bacteria in their mouth, they will pass it on to their partner. If its specifically cavity-causing bacteria, it could eventually lead to their partner having cavities. Both people need to brush their teeth, floss and rinse out with mouth wash as recommended.
Don’t despair if you don’t have someone to kiss though – chewing gum will have the same benefits on your teeth!
